BOOK REVIEW: Destiny of Shattered Dreams by Nilesh Rathod

An insider’s view into what goes on behind the glittering facade of corporate stardom, DESTINY of SHATTERED DREAMS is a fast-paced
tale of a brilliant young man’s meteoric rise. It is also a moving portrayal of the fallibility of love.

Ambition, passion
and raw courage are Atul Malhotra’s key aides to realizing his dreams as he learns the art of gambling for high stakes. What follows is a game of treachery, infidelity and murder.

The book lays bare the sordid corporate-politico nexus that compels this once middle-class boy to deftly learn the ropes and negotiate a world where dirty deals and power plays can make or break lives, where one wrong choice could be fatal.

A tale of yachts and hidden Swiss accounts, sordid affairs of lust, intrigue and exhilarating highs, Nilesh Rathod’s Destiny of Shattered Dreams is also the story of innocence forever lost.

I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is best book i have read in 2016.I think the book can be converted into film. The title of the book is apt.
When the dreams of a Man is shattered, then how does it feels?

The story revolves around the protagonist Atul Malhotra ,35 years of age, chairman of the board and founder CEO of Tansmech Telecom Limited (TTL),a billion dollar enterprise.

As it is clear from the blurb. The story is based on how a young man’s career first rises ,he achieves a lot and because of success, he was not able to control himself and see the demons ,so his career falls and falls in such a way that all his dreams are shattered, there is no way to rise in both his personal and professional life. His lost love, his daughter Ananya;Aditya his childhood buddy;Anil ,Prem , Rakesh and Qazi, his partners at work. His present could no longer fathom the things he had done in the past.

The time spend behind those walls silences the mind in any person.Though the world outside handn't changed much in 2 years when he was jailed, nothing was the same.He was a changed man,and most of that change had happened in the first few days at prison. The huge fine ordered the court had knocked off all Atul's assets, and even after that, there was a lot left to pay.

Quotes from the book:-
Life may throw devils on your path to success.Disgusted, you may take another path.It may not be the best path, not the most honourable path, bit is less evil to choose that path, because to achieve success, succeed you must.

I like-

  • Strong character of Atul
  • Way of Narration and writing was nice.
  • Appropriate title for the book.
I dislike-
  • Atul fights with Roshni because of Aarti
  • The devil that ruined Atul's life, sometimes success can overpower you and destroy your life and image
